Bio: Dr Sam Wong is Lecturer in the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of Liverpool, UK. Formerly a full-time journalist in Hong Kong, He is particularly critical of Elinor Ostrom’s Design Principle in water governance and the World Bank’s Sustainable Water Framework. He has worked in Ghana and India and explored the political issues of transboundary water governance. He has a strong publication record. He has written a book, entitled Exploring Unseen Social Capital in Community Participation (2007, Amsterdam University Press). He has more than 20 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. His best publications include Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers, Environmental Politics, and Sustainability Engineering. He has obtained more than £130K research grants from EPSRC, British Academy and British Council. His research has received a wide media attention. He was interviewed by the BBC’s Radio 4.
